Kindly refer to your office letter No. 29/1102/12-13 dated 12.09.2012 on the subject.

The undersigned is directed to say that there is a scheme called Monthly Income Scheme in post offices where money is deposited for a fixed period of 5 years and interest is paid on the monthly basis @8.5%.  In this Scheme, payment of monthly interest can be taken either by coming to post office or by giving a Standing Instruction for credit of monthly interest into post office savings account of the depositor standing in same post office.

Keeping in view the requirement of the customer and the circumstances mentioned in the representation forwarded by your office, this office has taken a decision to provide additional facility of payment of interest at the doorstep through Money order after deducting MO Commission and cost of MO forms.  In this connection, instructions have been issued to all post offices to offer this facility as and when any customer requests for the same.

LTC to NER or JK – Air Travel concession ends today

Concession of Air travel, which the Central Government employees have been enjoying for the past 6 years, comes to an end today. It is saddening to see that a scheme, that was so popular and enjoyed by all across ranks, has come to an end.  Travelling by airplane with the entire family is still not an ordinary feat for the majority of Indians. It therefore comes as no surprise that the ones who didn’t utilize this opportunity are regretting it. For countless Central Government employees who completed a year in service and took their parents and siblings on a plane journey, it will be a memory worth cherishing for a very long time.

e – Mail has the same status as    Postal Mail :-

Madhya Pradesh, one of India’s less developed states, has taken a step in to the 21st century by giving government email communications the same status as postal correspondence.  Last month Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan approved the landmark decision which, surprisingly, puts the state of 75 million at the forefront of India’s public sector.  All civil servants are now able to communicate with citizens and one another without reaching for the postage stamps or fax machine. According to senior officials with the state government, email will enable faster decision-making by cutting out the average five day delivery time for inter-city postal services within the state.   The email services will be provided by India’s National Informatics Centre.

CAT  suspends promotion of 148 Income Tax inspectors :

HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad bench of the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) comprising B Venkateshwar Rao, (member judicial) and Minnie Mathew (member administration) on Thursday suspended the promotions given to 148 income tax inspectors by the IT chief commissioner of AP, Hyderabad.  The bench was dealing with a petition by office superintendents and senior tax assistants of the department challenging the action of the chief commissioner in superseding an earlier order of the Centre.   Dr K Lakshmi Narasimha, counsel for the petitioners, said as per the order of the Centre all the posts of office superintendents, senior tax assistants, and stenographers were merged in a single cadre called executive assistants and promotions had to be effected by taking staff from this new category. He alleged that the chief income tax commissioner ignored the rule and effected the promotions.  The bench noted that the petition was filed on June 2 and the IT authorities sought several adjournments and, during the pendency of the petition, the commissioner convened the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) meeting and gave promotions. //times of india 13.06.14//
