Telugu girl is Miss America   - for the first time :

Telugu girl Nina Davuluri (24) has created history. Nina has won Miss America 2014 crown. Nina is the first Indian descent girl to be crowned Miss America in it’s 100 years of history. Nina Davuluri participated in the contest as Miss New York. Nina Davuluri performed Bollywood dance in competition’s talent portion. Nina Davuluri is the younger daughter of NRI couple Davuluri Choudhary and Sheila Ranjani. Nina’s grand mother Koteswaramma (mother’s mom) is the director and correspondent of Montessori Mahila Kalasala in Vijayawada.
