Telegraph Revenue up 14 times on last day 

LUCKNOW: As the good old telegram faded into history, Lucknow's Central Telegraph office (CTO) generated revenue of over Rs 14,000 on the last day of the service. Telegram officials say that the amount generated was 14 times of revenue collected on ordinary days. CTO on Sunday alone received 386 telegrams. "We used to receive less than 100 telegrams every day. The amount earned hardly exceeded Rs 1,000. But on the last day, people from all age groups rushed to send a telegram,'' said a CTO employee. //The times of India/Lucknow
